HYDRO FORMING PIPES
I can be reached on portgrinder@lineone.net for any enquiries or quotes.
Here I will show you a step by step demo of how to hydroform an expansion chamber in photographs.
Firstly Mark out on the steel the shape of the flat pipe.

Make sure you do two and add extra to the inlet and outlet ends for attaching the pump and regulator.

Cut them out and fold a 5-6mm lip all the way round but not the ends.

Seam weld the two halves together.

Fit a pressure regulator and drainage device (a big brass tap)

Attatch water pump(pic inlet tube on right)

Open tap and start to pump water onto expel all the air. When the air is all out shut tap and keep pumping
water in untill it expands.

Finish the pipe by heating any creases pumping more water in and tapping with a copper mallet until satisfied all the creases are out.

The finished pipe except for the moumting flanges.

This site was designed by Ken Gubbins a friend of mine.
Let him know what you think of it as feedback is greatly appreciated as he does this for fun not money.
